Dang! I live in the northeasternmost part of the valley where the sky is brilliant at night...and I usually look at the stars most nights at that time. Not last night! I would really love to see that. Maybe tonight I'll spend a few hours star gazing.

You didn't miss a thing. Nitram's link explains it. Channel 15 interviewed the guy who saw a neighbor send up the flares attached to balloons. Phx PD helicopter crew verified it. No doubt some people are going to believe it was E.T. looking for Elliott regardless of the facts.
