We are looking at an Airbnb rental and I think the area is Deer Valley. North of Bell Rd and east of I-17. Do we have to worry about safety in this area , compared to say Tempe/Mesa (which I'm more familiar with)?

I live near there. I wouldn't say it's the best area. I wouldn't be fearing for my life or anything, but very blue collar working class with older homes. Nothing special about the area at all, and not much to do. It depends on what you want to do while you're here, but everyone on CD could recommend better places to get an Airbnb.

Not sure if I agree with the blue-collar working-class aspect you see in Deer Valley.
The times I was there was around the I-17-101 area at Honor Health. It looks very white-collar and middle-class to me.

Like I said, I live in the area. Maybe not truly blue collar, but a lot of older, more run-down homes. A lot of non-HOA subdivisions with a lot of homes and yards not looking to hot.

I kind of agree with Sno. It's central, but not really close to anything you'd want to visit. What are you guys going to do while you're here visiting? Maybe we can make some suggestions for you.

It's not central for a lot of people. I'd call it pretty far north Phoenix.

It's close to the I-17, 101, and 51 freeways. Yes it's on the north side, but it is central if you're not coming from the perspective of Gilbert or Buckeye.
