Something else to note is people vary by how much heat and humidity they can take without being very uncomfortable.

If you could leave every year from 4 July to Labor Day, that would make the climate seem excellent, but still not enough rain, and you would still feel like you went through a hot Summer.

I pretty much do that already, except I leave in spurts & return because of my job & caregiving responsibilities. Almost all of my 5 weeks of vacation are used from June through August when I travel to cooler & more scenic locations to get out of the blistering Phoenix heat. Of course if everybody did that, the whole city would shut down, but there are many who need to be here during the summer, and there are even some who claim to love the heat.
