The dog shaving thread jogged my memory. When working as a reporter I used to write a yearly story about not taking your pets for a ride during the heat of summer. I can not remember the exact numbers, but I do remember that a closed car becomes an oven in minutes leading to potential death of your beloved pet.

Leave your pets home when it's hot outside. A heated car interior may kill a beloved family pet.

We hear to many of these stories and the saddest of them when people leave their babies in the car. I have such a hard time understanding this.

Nice to hear from you! I missed your posts. Since we last chatted I was near Litchfield Park as our daughter visited Luke. She will be working there this summer. I will be heading back to Phoenix in a couple weeks and will spend some time there getting her settled into her new apartment.'

I've never understood that either.

I don't personally have any kids, but I can't imagine how you would forget that you have children. I've heard on the news of people leaving their kids on the car for hours and later saying they forgot about them...don't they wonder "Hmm...I havn't seen my kid in 30 minutes"?

Great advice, LadmoFan

One pet "cooked" in a hot vehicle is too many!

Thanks for saying this. It cannot be said too many times. Five minutes in a hot vehicle is TOO MUCH!

I never could understand how anyone could forget their child inside a car. I am sure parents are harried and tired...I know I've been there...but I have never forgotten any of my kids.
