Not to mention issues that can occur such as dead batteries and signal issues. Speaking of signal issues, my internet access is mysteriously crippled once I enter Chase Field. Almost as if they have a scrambler blocking access. Has a similar issue at Sloan Park. Despite it being open air the internet functions poorly once I enter the gate.

They tell you to download the ticket to your phone in advance rather than trying to download it at Chase Field. Taking a screenshot of the ticket has its uses. The Wi-Fi and the Verizon access within the stadium have been lousy for years. Neither have been an issue so far this year as the stadium has been capped at 20,000 and only reached that on Opening Day. Time will tell if there has been any sort of improvement.

No more ticket stubs. No more fan published program & scorecard. Ridiculous food & drink prices. The live appeal of baseball is dwindling.

One aspect of the Ballpark app I enjoy is the game record you can keep.

A couple of years ago they lost all of the check-in records, wiping out what was probably hundreds of my entries including All Star games, playoff games, road games, etc.

You might consider the food and drink prices ridiculous but year after year the come in cheapest in MLB according to an index that looks at the cost of four mid-range tickets, two small beers, four small soft drinks, four regular hot dogs, parking for one car, two programs and two baseball caps.
