It's best just to pick up the yellow pages and start calling around. I once sold 100 cookbooks to a store on Camelback - sorry, can't remember the name. (Of course, if your cookbooks are valuable - out of print and in great condition - it might be worth your while to contact one of the stores that specializes in cookbooks, like the ones in New York.)

Bookmans is the one store I know of that will buy both CDs and books. I've had pretty good experiences trading things there.
Other options for CDs include
Zia Record Exchange (multiple locations) and

Silverbear is right. There is also a store in the central Phoenix area called Tracks in Wax. Another one is the guy who bought out the Rockaway store in Mesa. From what I have heard he moved the store to Tempe and I believe it has been renamed Rockzone. Those stores don't deal in books, though. I DO like Bookmans because they deal in both, also computer games, some used equipment, albums, cassettes, etc. I don't live in the area but I visit in the area in the winter and like cece77 says, check the phone book. Do they still have a Bookmans out there? They used to have one in Tempe, right next to the Guitar Center on Elliot Rd.
