If I had school age kids and couldn't afford to buy in the area I wanted, I'd live in an apartment or condo and send my kids to school in the 85028. Shadow Mountain High School and the schools and neighborhood around it are very nice. Yeah, the apartment complexes have problems but I'd rather have my kids going to good schools. Plus, it is SO convenient there, centrally located to so much good stuff, including the mountain preserves for hiking. Pretty parks too. If I am ever able to move back to Phoenix, the 85028 and adjacent is the only place I will consider. Loved it there.
