The song, if you aren't familiar, is about the questionable government tactics and subsequent conviction of Leonard Peltier.

At the time, I considered myself to be a traditional republican. Just getting my feet wet. Thinking how extreme "left" RATM was. They proclaimed extreme anti-government views. Burning of the flag was more to protest the government, not the country itself.

Flash forward 21 years, I see myself agreeing more with the band now more than ever. As a right-leaning libertarian, I've about completely had it with the government (R and D). It's just funny how things come full circle sometimes. The older I get, I realize I just want my freedom. I want the government to remove itself from my life. A lot of the same things the crazy members of Rage wanted some 20 years ago. We may disagree on some things, but I think our foundations are the same.

Yes, spoken like someone who pays attention to the band, their message, and what their members focus on. They're not against the country just against how it's being ran and more than willing to use their voice to push for a change. I think it will be a very popular show here in Phoenix, this show has been rescheduled twice due to COVID, so it's been a long time coming.

I know exactly what you mean (also being a right leaning Libertarian), but my main reason for attending a particular concert is for the music, not for the politics. If I wanted to hear that sort of thing, I'd go to a political rally. That's why I stick mainly to singers & bands which I enjoy listening to for their talent & quality of their songs, and don't have a particular agenda to throw at their audience.

One hurdle has been passed, but the fight now will be with Phoenix and Sky Harbor Airport.

Paying no property taxes for the entire 30 years is a HUGE savings for the team. But Tempe seems to be getting some pretty good perks itself in exchange for that:

We'll see if that will placate them.

Let's hope there's truth in the latest article, which indicates Sky Harbor might be backing off from a heated battle over this matter. It appears to be headed for a public vote, so the deal should be sealed if Tempe voters approve the project.

That is good news. I'd have to say Tempe got almost everything they wanted and more out of the proposal. Even some things unheard of like - having Tempe, AZ in the name of whoever buys naming rights. Free use of some of the facilities. Tempe had some great negotiators on their side and/or the Coyotes were in a tenable situation without a permanent home.
