Biden's infrastructure bill has funding for I-11 that would run right next to the project (likely the reason they are ready to go with it). Parts of what will be I-11 are the 303, so it would connect to the 10 and the 17 with freeways.

Johnson Ranch in San Tan is 50 miles from downtown and they are selling homes there like crazy. You presume everyone is going downtown. For what? Hopefully people will be able to find employment much closer to their homes.

We are getting big, big, big like LA and downtown Phoenix may not matter much. Who knows? Maybe there will be a small airport built out that way, or Goodyear could start commercial flights - or Luke could close down like WIlliams Field did.

A PHX-GDY Airport is part of the proposals, yes. Along with multiple freight ports, business parks, etc.

I don't doubt they do build some houses but, 100k houses? I do not see happening

Oh, no! Hopefully that map refers to the existing GDY airport and no conversion to commercial ops is planned. I do think that we will eventually see small airports like in the LA area and Florida.

But the 10 and 17 already have horrible traffic, especially in the west valley, shuttling more traffic onto is going to give them California level traffic. I do not see how they are touting the easy commute argument for anyone not naive.

As they add more and more warehouses in Goodyear area it will just get worse. Plus what's the completing date on a complete interstate 11, like 2080?

10 will look like Katy TX and I have seen conceptual plans for a double deck I 17.

Somebody should fix the subject line. This unnecessary pile of sprawl would be in Buckeye, not Phoenix. This poorly written article (WTF is patch.com, anyway?) does not once mention Buckeye.
