Hey all, I’m looking into moving very soon(permanently not just for winter) and I am considering Peoria highly but will consider most areas, but are there other ways to find roommates or even room for rent besides Craigslist or roomshare type apps?

Classified section of the newspaper?

Not sure why you're looking where the potential roommates won't be advertising.. Try googling "find roommates near me". The results will probably be the roomshare apps you're not looking for.

Facebook marketplace , atleast imo, seems like the most popular platform to buy/sell/trade/rent etc . I personally found my roommate off craigslist last December and its been a great experience so far. Another website called roomster or similar is a decent one , but for more replies use facebook marketplace.

Yeah as much as I hate FB the marketplace thing seems pretty good but I’ll probably end up using Craigslist… not to crazy about most of the other roommate apps or sites I’ve seen

Why do you object to Craigslist? It works pretty well.

You didn't tell us anything about yourself, so it's hard to give you something very specific. If you're young, try graduate schools, for instance.

r/phxlist on Reddit is good for finding roommates or affordable apartments.

Facebook's interface for searching room rentals is perhaps the most annoying and most difficult to use interface I can remember in quite some time.
