Grand Canyon visitors have saved a buns over the years using LV as a base instead of Phoenix..and avoided the Phoenix Summers. Laughlin still boasts some of the best rooms on a budget, on the planet. Vegas a family destination? Unfortunately, yes, along with lots of idiots from Michigan.

I just tried renting a car tonight (3/4) for the first weekend in April, one week later than the OP's intended rental. Every single company at Sky Harbor was sold out except for Sixt, whom I'd never heard of, but I snatched up one of their cars anyway. If Spring Training has been cancelled, what else could possibly be driving the big surge in demand?
