What a dive.

Wifey & me will NEVER attend a movie there again. I'll shop at Sears in the early morning, right when they open. That's it.

It is not a safe place. Don't go.

Well, I don't know what happened to you, but I agree. I have been in that mall once, because I was in the area and thought I grab something to eat and buy a present for my kids... whew was I happy to get out of that place. Old, crappy, and the majority of the people walking around there were not the kind you would invite to your garden party...

My favorite malls in the valley are Chandler Fashion Center, Paradise Valley Mall and Scottsdale Fashion Center.

Yea it's really gone down hill. I remember back in the mid 90s it was actually a decent place to go...now it's ghetto paradise.

We walked out in the middle of a movie.

I didn't have my gun .

I honestly didn't think I would need it.

Kids behind us were smokin' something...it wasn't pot.

Others were throwing trash around; a fight ensued.

We were outta there quicker than you can say:

"Where are ya goin'"?

No security whatsoever, and me & wifey just didn't fit in, if ya know what I mean.

Gonna go to the show at Deer Valley from now on.

Way back in the mid 70's it was the only game in town. It was a great mall. So as with most things that have 35 or so years on them they become old history.
We had Maryvale and Christown malls along in there but no super malls.
Sheriff Joe still does holiday patrols for publicity style news at this mall.
I have never had any problems at this mall in the 30 years or so I have been around it.

It once was the jewel of the metro area. Now it serves as an example of the ramifications of an open border policy.

Are you talking about AMC 30? I worked at that theater when it first opened and even it has gone down hill a bit. The crowd isn't nearly as bad as Metrocenter but the place itself needs some updating...it feels dated.

I personally like the new Harkins at I-17 and Happy Valley or the AMC at Desert Ridge or the Harkins at 101 and Scottsdale.

One of the nicest...or at least cleanest, theaters in town is the AMC 24 at the Arizona Center in downtown which you would never think of, but it's very nice, clean, and usually almost empty.

Really? I go to the AMC 30 at Deer Valley a couple times a month (just went yesterday) and find it just fine. I don't think it's outdated much at all. I don't like Harkin's for some reason, so I don't go there much. And, I also heard that the AMC at the AZ Center was outdated and dirty (it's been a while since I've been there).

Metrocenter used to be the best mall in the state, in high school we would drive up from Tucson every couple of months to go there. According to a Sears' employee that I was talking to, the Sears at Metrocenter used to be one of the busiest in the country. Now it and the whole mall is nothing but a big dump.

Plus the other thing that Metrocenter can be proud of is that it is one of the top spots in the country for auto theft.
