All right, I tried to help. But, if you don't come up with an excellent name for your fish restaurant, then don't blame me!

Sure hope you have "squid" in there somewhere...
Thanks for your help, Sir! You kinda inspire me to maybe change the restaurant concept and name the restaurant to ZonyPony and start serving horsemeat. If I am ever in the horsemeat market, maybe....

Cool! Much better than a fish market!

I know of lots of people who bought homes in the good times and ran up their home equity lines and now are upside down. Others are losing their homes due to ARMs coming due. But, I do believe the majority are cutting back and many of them are struggling. If I remember right, isn't the majority living paycheck to paycheck??

What you describe is what I believe to be some of the richer areas of N. Scottsdale and PV. The CEO's, MD specialists, high end lawyers, successful business owners, etc. Yes, many of them are doing just fine.
I moved to PHX, have to update my profile...I still think it is more affluent out here...If people are living paycheck to paycheck, who are all the people driving big pickups or SUVs, towing nice RVs up north to vacation...see it all the time? Who are all the people shopping all the nice shopping areas here, such as in Scottsdale, Desert Ridge, Glendale, etc.
If people bought homes in good times, then they have good incomes, and if they overspent, it still doesn't mean they are poor, they just were poor money managers...

It's all about credit! I totally agree that there are people with money to spend, but we also have no idea where that money is coming from. There's a huge amount of spendaholics running up credit cards like nothing else. But, you may be very right that we have more affluent people here than wherever you came from. It's all about perception.

Yeah, I used to run up credit cards too, but it's been years. I know better now.

I do believe that there are people who have lots of cash, I just don't think it's the norm right now.
