We just moved here from the Chicago area and are looking at some homes in Knoell Gardens, Wood Park Village and Pepperwood subdivisions in Tempe. I would appreciate any information/experience/perspectives about these neighborhoods.

My husband is working on the Gila River Indian Reservation and I will continue working remotely for my job in Chicago until I find a job out here. He would like to live as far south as possible, but we weren't crazy about Chandler. I'd like to be closer to ASU where our daughter is going to preschool and where I hope to eventually work.

We are looking for a safe, quiet neighborhood. I've already resigned myself to the fact that we will have to drive most places, so proximity to recreation and restaurants isn't as big a factor as safety and having nice neighbors.

Thanks!!

Default Tempe

I am originally from Arlington Heights and moved to Tempe over 30 years ago and have never regretted the move. I have never lived south of US 60 so I am not too informed on the neighborhoods in question. Tempe as a whole, especially away from ASU, is pretty quiet and safe. AZ Mills is a heaven for car thefts so be careful when shopping there. Tempe is so centrally located in the valley that it makes a perfect city to live in. Another 45 days or so of hot weather and you will really enjoy the next 6 months.
