I love living in the west side - i can get great deal on tamales from the drop house illegals that surround me in my neighborhood

always great to get a good deal on used cars - they may be a little hot though and I'm not talking about the sun

I don't need to worry about mounting anything into my crumbling adobe shack - i just use the bullet holes as anchors

besides, it's not so bad - you don't need to put yourself in the crossfire - once you get home you just need to hunker down and stay there because there is absolutely nothing to do, see, eat or drink on the westside

so in the end it's really not that bad...............................................

honestly though - figure out where you will work, your commute tolerance and then what you want to do for activities and take it from there

there are nice areas that have a lot to offer all over the metro

Everytime there is a shooting or an illegal drop house it seems to be in the west side. West phoenix is not a place you want to drive thru at night. The west side just seems to have a different feel, it doesnt feel friendly and safe like the east valley.
just my .02 I move here from Los Angeles 11 years ago and I love it.
It gets fairly dangerous here in Palm Valley (Goodyear). I hear tons of gunshots from my neighbor's $300,000-$500,000 houses that they use simply as drop houses due to the sheer size that allows numerous illegals to hang in comfort in the media rooms. I was almost injured by my husband's $2,000 Jura Capresso coffee machine this morning. There were lattes and cappucinos flying everywhere, but I managed to duck behind my Ethan Allen furniture and I'm living to tell about it. Seriously though, I might get chlorinated water in my eyes if I were to stand too close to my neighbor's yard if the kids are in the pool. The PF Chang's in Goodyear should be finished soon. I wonder which gang will claim that restaurant as their own?

I only say this because some people from the East Valley tend to believe that what is seen in certain parts of Phoenix applies to any city west of Central. The truth is that they may be geographically closer to that filth than places such as Glendale (Arrowhead), Goodyear, Litchfield Park, etc. I'm surrounded by college-educated people that have careers with well-paying jobs.

oh - but it's true

you know why they built Luke AFB out in the westside right? - it's so violent that we need a military installation just incase things boil over

if it weren't for all the gunfire and illegals the rest of us residents wouldn't have to complain about jet noise because f-16s wouldn't be used to patrol and intimidate residents like they are now

The Yakuza? Wait, no, they are Japanese.

I think that everything south of the Wildlife World Zoo is Latin Kings territory. Everything north of the zoo is a disputed zone between the Bloods and the Crips. So do not wear red OR blue, unless you are taking a side.

I heard it was either going to the MS13 or the Black Gorilla Faction.

PF Changs is merely a front for the triads - you just knew they were going to expand and that the Pei Wei was just a sign the first step

and you should keep an eye on the italians moving in on this turf - NYPD is squeezing the early triads on dystart - brothers is moving around

i hear you on the zoo though and I think it plays into the italians as well with them adding an aquarium - you don't need an ocean to sleep with the fishes, just a bunch of good concrete to pour over a body or some fish to eat up the remains

in fact at night all of world wildlife zoo is like Wu's pigs in Deadwood and you know it's just a matter of time before those blood thirsty animals are let out to devour the rest of us

but thankfully luke is still there to provide support and drop some bombs on those runaway tigers
