Scottsdale is a great place to live IMO. It is pricey and there are a lot of self proclaimed "millionaires" there, but overall it is really safe, good schools, and lots to do.

It all depends on what you are looking for. Scottsdale to me is rather one dimensional...loads of shopping, and then more shopping.
