Hey Guys,

I will be on a road trip driving thru Tucson to Phoenix Saturday March 19th, coming from New Mexico on I-10, and will be staying a night in Phoenix. Any suggestions on what to do while i'm there?

Thanks.

Enjoy the hotel room you pay for. There's not much else to do.

Are you going to be here for a whole day, or just a few hours before movin' on down the road? What are your interests?

Phoenix Zoo, aquariums, hiking in the mountains in the area, shopping in Scottsdale or Tempe, spending the day in Downtown Phoenix visiting museums, shopping, and maybe attend an event, there's tons more to do in the metro area. I just named a few off the top of my head.

I'm open to almost anything, but I like doing things that I can only do in the area that i'm in. I heard I can pick fruits from an orchird somewhere around phoneix. Any good places to hang out at night?

I will be in Tucson around 3pm and if nothing interesting, i will be driving to Phoneix.

Thanks.

sounds like you may get to Phoenix after 5, so orchards may be closed...but, yes, this is the season for oranges, grapefruits, lemons, limes....maybe others can advise on u-pick orchards....that would be a "local" thing.....or you could go hike around Squaw/Piestewa Peak, Camelback Mt., Papago Park, the Tempe Town Lake, White Tank Mts., South Mountain.....in the evening, depending on your age, you may want to walk Tempe Marketplace (must be under 30 to be admitted!) or Scottsdale Fashion Square/Scottsdale Waterfront/downtown Scottsdale (must be over 30, but act like you're under 25).....maybe the Suns are home?....spring training?....check other threads here in the Phx forum for cool places to eat dinner or breakfast.....

Westgate will be hopping on Saturday night. Several bars and restaurants all clustered together in an entertainment plaza you can walk around in, dine outside, dance, get wasted etc. Yard House has a zillion different beers and Jimmy Buffets is fun. Cabelas outdoor store is there too. Take I10 to SR 101 North and get off at Glendale Ave and go right. Its right next door to the Cardinals stadium. There might be a hockey game too. The ice is at Westgate.
