My wife and I are coming to visit Scottsdale in early November, and one of my pleasures is to get up early and go out for breakfast. Any suggestions for good value and bottomless coffee?

Harlow's Cafe University & Hardy in Tempe. Love their breakfast go at least once a month.

Matt's Big Breakfast in downtown Phoenix. The Good Egg; there are three in Scottsdale, 2 on Scottsdale Rd. and one on Frank Llyod Wright. One in Central Phoenix on Central Ave. The Eggery on 1st Street and Camelback is not bad either.

i love the waffle house, but nothing really unique about it

matts big breakfast is a little more rigid than a down home greasy spoon - but the food is fantastic and it's a cozy little scene

harlows is a really good call for a broad breakfast place - did breakfast there with some family after picking up inlaws from the airport

Rustlers Roost at the Point Resort, you'd enjoy sitting outside plus it's good food. 16th street and Northern, can't miss it.

Matts is good, but not really a bottomless cup type of place. Great food, low on the ambiance. But hey, go during the week and you might see the mayor, governor, D.A., or Colangelo hisself!

5 and Diner off Camelback and 16th street would be fun, sit outside or in. And you could start your breakfast at anytime...open 24/7 and always busy.

The best food tho,....any MiMi's you can find. Desert Ridge, MetroCenter, way out west off Goodyear(?)Road...check the listings for certain. MiMi's is fabulous, big helpings, fantastic pastries, waffles, frenchtoast, bacon, glazed porkchops....anything you want really. And nice enough that you can go dressed or just in sweats or shorts.

Other then the "egg" chain's, Is matt's a chain? I would avoid the eggery on central and camelback, they forgot how to make food and give service.

To the OP: Since you are in scottsdale, USegg is a wonderful place, it is another chain of the "egg" restaurants, but they provide better service then most.

Matt's is not a chain - the guy does also operate a bar downtown as well (roosevelt tavern), which can be great depending on the night you are there and the bar snacks are of high quality
