I live in Phx and visit LV somewhat often....biggest thing I notice is how incredibly fast the people drive in LV....amazing...also, lots of young people seem to populate the town....I get the feeling there are lots of nearly-homeless residents, somewhat desperate almost....there are many nice areas of town in LV and home deals up there are probably even better than here in Phx....good recreation opportunities year-round in LV.....LV is maybe 1/4 the population of the Phx metro area....I think people may be friendlier in Phx - a smidge less transient than LV

I'm originally from Denver, but lived in LV part of 05 and thru 06, then Phoenix since 07. I have never seen so many people as in Vegas that beg on the streets for money. Seems like people asking me for change almost anywhere I went. Pathetic. The whole town has a vibe of opportunism, and it felt like just about everyone had some sort of "game."

Phoenix seems much more like a normal city like Denver. In fact, very much like it except for the obvious heat factor. Of course, there are demographic differences between different sub-cities of Phoenix.
