Hey guys, the name is Shant.

A few weeks ago, a friend and I decided to make a trip to ASU to see our friends. He volunteered to take his car. So, we make it into AZ, and stop at a gas station, switch drivers. And sure enough, I was traveling at 90 mph and a pretty flash goes off. A few weeks later, my friend receives a photo with my beautiful face on it driving his car. I recently talked to some friends, and the most promising advice I was given was this: He recommended that I have the owner of the car call the number, and dismiss the ticket. All he needs to say is that he wasn't the driver. He also said that the driver cannot be forced to give up my name. Seeing as how we both live in california, the ticket being out-of-state, it would complicate things. (advantage for us?) Will this work? How much money am I looking at? and will I be eligible for traffic school (I'm avoiding having my insurance go up at all costs.) Can I just ignore the ticket?

This is the first ticket I've ever gotten, and I'm an adult. Just to clarify any future questions.

Thanks guys,

Shant

You should be able to mail the ticket back with a copy of his driver's license so they see it wasn't him and it will get dismissed.

Whoa.. are you sure? That sounds way, way too good to be true. Won't they ask him who was driving the vehicle?

No, he doesn't have to tell them who was driving. I was told this by someone who works for the photo radar company.

Sure doesn't sound like it, Shant.

If guilty, an adult would OWN THE PROBLEM and either pay the fine or attend traffic school, not try THE WEASEL ROUTE.

Paying the fine is the easy way out, taking driving school shows that you are willing to man up to your mistake and learn what you did wrong.

At least you were enough of an adult to admit that you were driving 90 miles per hour.

Now really grow up, and SLOW DOWN.

The ticket's in your friend's name. He's the one who would be going to traffic school, not you, unless you mail in a copy of YOUR license and admit that YOU were driving. He was stupid to let you drive that fast, and you were stupid to do it.

Pay the fine for him, then. It seems crazy to come back here to go to traffic school, unless you can do it online.
