At just 24 years old, I am already tired of living in Iowa. I have grown up here, and I am ready to get out. I can't stand the humid summers, rainy springs, and the freezing cold winters. So, after visiting many different places, I have decided Arizona is the place for me.

I will not be moving for 2 years, however. I recently started working for UnitedHealth Group, and hope I can transfer in two years, after I have my associates degree. I am looking to move to an area with affordable places to rent, low crime, and a place where I could feel comfortable going for a run at sunset.

I am leaning towards Chandler or Gilbert. If anyone knows where UnitedHealth Group is located (affraid to ask, since I just started), where I could start out with affordable renting options, and some entertainment options? Also, as a member of the famous Miletich gym, I am looking for a place to train MMA also. Any tips or help would be appreciated!

Well as another native Iowan to another, I think you'll be quite happy in the Phoenix area! Two years seems like quite a while but it flies by and I think it's good that you're researching the area now. As far as living arrangements, I'd look into Gilbert, Chandler, or possibly Scottsdale if you can swing it. Gilbert and Chandler are fairly interchangable cities but I give the slight upper hand to Chandler. Scottsdale by far has the most to do but is also the priciest of the 3. If you want to run at sunset, I'd recommend renting in a private or gated community. I currently reside in Grayhawk in N. Scottsdale and I'd have no problem running late at night. UnitedHealth Group has a location in Phoenix on N. 3rd Street so this may also be a factor in your living area. Never heard of the Miletich gym but we do have quite a few 24 Hour Fitness Centers in the Phoenix area. There's actually one not too far from me in Scottsdale. If you have any other questions don't be afraid to ask.

AZ Combat Sports is the top MMA gym in AZ. They are located Apache and McClintock in Tempe. The WEC LW Champ Jaime Varner trains there and a lot of ASU wrestlers there. Some guys from UFC also train there. Arizona Combat Sports Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!!!! For a young person your age I would recommend Tempe. Here are job listings from jobing.com for United Health Care UnitedHealth Group jobs in Phoenix, Arizona from Jobing.com
