I am just curious. Did anyone on in these forums witness the Phoenix lights in 1997?
If you do not know what I am talking about, than I assume you didnt.

Saw them, but not entirely sure what the hell they were. There's a good documentary about the event, but I forget the name of it.

There is actually a new release with the same name that you can find at BlockBuster but from what I heard, the movie/documentary is not conclusive enough to clarify much and fails to satisfy those who are really curious...

Well, the show "UFO hunters" did a great job of trying to de-bunk it by interviewing witnesses, checking to see if there were planes in the area that night and doing the flare experiment. Many people saw the thing pass over their houses and block out all the stars, so it was massive. Its very interesting. I Am just curious if anyone here saw it, because I have seen some weird things, but nothing that large. It must have been amazing!

I wasn't in Phoenix to see them, but I did follow the news fairly closely, and I recall that the most likely explanation was that a person or persons unknown attached common road flares to helium balloons and sent them aloft.

I was herding a field of Jackalopes across I-17 when they appeared. Stopped traffic, everyone got out of their vehicles and pointed to the sky and yelled alien invasion, alien invasion, then all realized it was just solar light reflections. That's all it was and then we all went on our merry way.

I was in Phoenix on vacation during that time period watching Cactus League baseball. The night those were lights were seen, due to the big "sportzfn" that I am, I was watching march madness on TV in my motel room. If I only had known that those lights were being observed I could have easily opened my drapes and saw them because I was in Mesa and my window looked out over the whole city of Phoenix. So I missed them and I have always kicked myself for it because it would have been awesome to see them and I could have so easily. Man it would have been amazing to be up on South Mountain Park at the time.
