Hi everyone,

My husband and I are thinking about building a house in a new subdivision in Phoenix area. He will be going to school in January at ASU in Tempe full time. Any suggestions of areas to avoid or areas that are great? Any advice about new constructions of any sort would be helpful. We are newer to the area and have never built a house before.

Thanks

There are many new homes already built and located all over the valley in the suburbs. After several years of school and when that comes to an end, where will your husband be working? The valley metro is very large and building a home in the wrong location can be a big problem. If you know where he’ll be working after school, you may want to build in that general direction. However if you may end up leaving the valley and moving to another city you may want to just wait on building a home, and think about buying something or lease something near Tempe for school.

Lots of homes on the market right now; the builders overbuilt and the prices for homes that are up and standing are maybe at a better price then you having one build?

Yeah stay away from those crooks Ashton Woods!!!

Go to South Gilbert and check out some of the Standard Pacifics communities. They are close to the new San Tan Village.
