Ok, I haven't been on this forum in ages. I hope Im not repeating a similar question in regard to photo radar. But, here it goes...My Mom lives in Hawaii, and just told me she got a photo radar ticket in the mail. Well, she goes on to tell me(as she is laughing) that it is clearly my husband driving the car she left behind for us to use. The ticket was issued in Feb. of this year. So, I told her just send in the pic of her license and it should be a non issue. She said the citation says that if she isnt the driver she then needs to tell them who is and give them a license number. What should we do?

She just needs to ignore the ticket, they aren't going to send process servers to Hawaii just to get someone to pay a cheap speeding "ticket".

Agreed, they can not even do "alternate service" over in Hawaii. I am surprised they even mailed it there. They must be getting really hard up for money now.

Probably because of all the people learning that they can just ignore their tickets. I am up to my 4th photo radar ticket now.

I did get pulled over by a real cop for speeding last week, I was going 48 in a 40 down 32nd St from Lincoln to Camelback. I just did my online driving school earlier today actually, I have no problem paying when caught by a real person not a machine.

I'm not clear from the post where the violation took place ( I think the car was "left behind" here, but still in the mother's name) but still, I don't think they are going to get personal service in Hawaii, so she could ignore it.

In this case, Sassieb, ignoring is probably safe.

However, consider it a lesson learned because the next time may involve a real cop or, worse yet, an accident.

Ok, well it wasn't me. I usually obey the speed laws (I said "usually")lol. So, are you all saying my Mom shouldn't even waste her time by responding at all???

Responding at all would be acknowledging receipt, which would negate the need for a process server. Definitely ignore it.
