We're coming down for a long weekend and have spring training tickets for opening day this Sunday at Camelback Ranch (Dodgers & White Sox). Can anyone recommend a good baseball themed place for food and drink after the game?

in that area?! - probably nothing baseball themed

I think the main baseball themed places out here are don & charlies (scottsdale) along with Alice Copperstown (downtown)

however, you would be really close to westgate (cardinals stadium, hockey stadium, dueling piano bar, yard house, margaritaville, fox sports grill, saddle ranch, etc) and the 101 & northern area (another sports bar, kincaids and the auld dubliner irish pub) ....... if you go up to the 101 & bell you'll be in the arrowhead area and there are too many restaurants to list there

Baseball themed is harder, because those type of bars are downtown around Chase Field. But there are *lots* of good sports bars at Westgate, which serves the Cardinals Stadium, which isn't far from Camelback ranch. Just take Camelback east to the 101, north to Glendale (you'll see the Cardinals stadium, it's just north of that) and exit east on Glendale and you're there. Bar Louie, Yard House, FOX sports grill, lots of restaurants.

Head to Westgate or Arrowhead...Both are off the 101 North.

I'm going the Cubs vs. Rangers on Friday in Surprise...

If you're on the east side of the valley, (Hohokam) go to Sluggo's. It's a fun pre/post game stop. Tell Sarah I sent you!

We frequent Alice Cooperstown anytime we're in for a visit. This time will be no exception. Thanks for the Don & Charlie's recommendation. After looking on Mapquest, I see that it's less than a mile from our hotel.

Are there any restaurants where you might be able to see any MLB players dining out?

I have heard mixed reports on this. Many focus on baseball and do not go out or get off their diet. However, there is always exception to the rules...so I also heard some of the veterans might enjoy training a little more (partying and eating out).

When does Manny join the Dodgers for spring training?

Be careful if you plan on having a few drinks and then driving. The police are all looking extra hard for drunk drivers in all these areas during spring training.
