possibly moving to Scottsdale. question on apartment living (apartment complex, living in)

Hello Arizonans,

I might be possibly moving to Scottsdale sometime around May. I have a few questions

1) How expensive are the AC bills for a 1br/1ba apartment throughout the year?

2) How is it living in an apartment complex? I am concerned due to the fact of the heat that generates off the other buildings in the complex (urban heat island effect)


3) Do your cars use a special kind of Freon for your cars? I have a pretty crappy air conditioning system in my car, and ive heard that freon used in cars in vegas is so potent it is not allowed in CA.

4) The speed cameras really irritate me. I grew up in California, lived in SoCal for the past year, therefore I am used to driving 80mph+ I know that this will be a problem if I do end up relocating to AZ.

I am currently living is Orange County (SF Bay Area native), and during the summer here at times it gets too hot for me. I absolutely HATE the heat, so I know I'm not going to like living in AZ much. I visited Scottsdale in November for a week, and that was too hot for my likings. But my relocation is out of my control, so I cant do much about it.
