In regards to the amount, the Sheriff's office has not disclosed that amount. The only thing the Sheriff's office provided the public was "It's not that much" This kind of reminds me of a teenager coming back from the mall and saying they didn't spend that much and not to worry about the amount.
Kidding me? Not seeking reimbursement sounds to me like none was due because A) either no taxpayer money was spent above what is normally spent on such operations or B) it was a negligible amount, not worth the man hours it would take to research and calculate.

If my tax return's itemized deductions are within a few hundred $$ of the standard deduction, but it takes me 5-8 hrs. to figure that out, why bother?

The warrants were low risk. Do they usually use helicopters for low risk warrants? Do they usually set up elaborate schemes for low risk warrants? How about use of overtime staff for low warrants? 10 hours per day?

No, low risk warrants are usually handled during traffic stops.

I have no idea, but in a lot of police depts., those pilots have to get their hours in each month, whether its in pursuit of criminals or just burning gas. Where I used to live they used SWAT to serve ALL warrants and it was in a pretty nice area too. I'm not saying MCSO spends their money wisely. But I fail to see how the taxpayers got fleeced here in any way.
