Records: Arpaio used taxpayer money for TV show

Quote:
The sheriff's office in Arizona's largest county used taxpayer money to offer up sworn deputies, office space, equipment and helicopters to Hollywood producers without being reimbursed, according to the office's records.

"Don't talk about the money," Arpaio said of the show's expenses. "It wasn't that much money."

He said his office could not provide a figure for how much was spent.
not that much money? Yeah right...

I would like the sheep, I mean supporters, to defend this one...

Let's see how his supporters defend this. This state slashes the education budget because of a deficit, but we continue to give Arpaio money for a TV show on Fox Reality. He needs to be removed from his post immediately.

No matter the answer - it's irrelevant.

Is it legal? Probably (there's always loopholes). Is it ethical/moral? Absoultely not.

Problem is, morals/ethics aren't tangible pieces of evidence in a courtroom. That's why everyone's pissed about this and the AIG bonuses: There's not a damn thing any of us can do about it besides b*tch and complain.

The only glimmer of hope in any of this is that it appears the old man is starting to get lazy. He still has to answer to the voters and the County Board of Supervisors whether they like each other or not.

Not sure if everyone is pissed about this and the AIG bonuses, however,
the voters do have a right not to vote for him.
