The Arcadia neighborhood is definately in the East Valley. It sits in eastern Phoenix between the Biltmore neighborhood to the west and the city of Scottsdale to the East.

Yeah arcadia is in Phoenix, so its centrally located, the eastern suburbs are the "east valley" and the western suburbs are the "west valley."

Arcadia is not ""east Valley, but it's in the eastern part of Phoenix. Since Phoenix is the middle of the valley, no part of it is in what's known as the "east Valley"

Actually, Scottsdale is not part of the East Valley" to a lot of people; when the media use the term, they don't mean Scottsdale as part of it.

How do you figure?

East Valley usually refers to Chandler, Gilbert, and Mesa areas...that area is sort of clumped together.

It's sort of broken down like this...

Phoenix
Scottsdale
Tempe
East Valley
West Valley

I agree with the above - tempe often gets lumped in with east valley, but arcadia and such places do not

i think the city has grown so much and morphed so much that just "east valley" and "west valley" really are useless

Is there really much you can do to loop in fountain hills and gilbert? Buckeye & Peoria? Desert Ridge area and anything?

Tempe IS East Valley, if that term is used. I agree with Finger Laker, though, that with the growth the terms have become less and less useful (and, less and less used) because it's more accurate to just say the city or cities you are talking about.

First of all, East and West valleys are old terms. In the original sense, there is Phoenix. The suburs to the east of it became known as the east valley. The suburbs west of it became known as the west valley.

The east valley includes Scottsdale, Chandler, Tempe, Gilbert, Queen Creek etc. However, Scottsdale was pretty much limited to the South Scottsdale back then so it truly was a part of the east valley. Back then North Scottsdale was just some ranches and "Rawhide" LOL Since then North Scottsdale has developed and Scottsdale got bigger and is now identified as its own city on the news etc. Nonetheless, if you examine the area codes, the 480 code includes Scottsdale, Chandler, Tempe, Gilbert, Mesa etc.

Arcadia is strictly not the east valley.
