The ZIP there is 85308, a Glendale ZIP. You can look up the crime stats in several places, but that doesn't strike me as a bad area in that respect.

I'm staying with a friend not too far from there right now, and I've driven that stretch of Bell several times. I don't think that's a bad area, house is fairly new, not too far from Arrowhead Mall for shopping/entertainment.

I would have thought 85053 was right, too...It looks like depending on exactly where the house is (east or west of 39th, north or south of Bell), the ZIP would be either 85053 or 85308. So, for crime statistics, I'd look at both ZIPs, even if 85053 is the ZIP for the exact address.

Near Bel-aire? That's a good area. Somewhat urban, but it's established.

39th Ave & W Bell is a decent area. My office is located near there (43rd/Bell) so I'm not around in the evening. I can't vouch for anything at night but in the past 4-5 years at least, no major crime stuff going on there during the day. Lots of retail around there and good freeway access too.

I have a friend that lives in the Norterra area. No problems there. More suburban and less built up out there (for now).

Whatever you choose, good luck.

I like the area north of 101 myself. That Dynamite Ranch area is nice. But I like more wide open spaces. Depends on what you want. If you are working near the Glendale home, and distance means something to you, then go for it. Glendale is nice too.

North of 101 up 17 is more open, as Cave Creek, Carefree...but Glendale is nice city wise!!! You have to decide what is important and where you are working.............

Are you dissing my Odyssey? I guess so since we have a soccer sticker on our rear window.

The schools in that area are subpar. (you said thats not a problem for you) I think that a top rated charter school is very close to those cross streets. There are some older homes in that area. That doesn't mean that they are unsafe. I guess I go by a schools rating on an areas desirability with kids in mind.

I live on 51 Ave and Union Hills not far from the area... I have been here for 9 years... My kids went to Deer Valley schools, which are pretty good for AZ... Good Luck
