Hi, we're really broke and have to move now. Can anyone tell me some really cheap apartment complexes with studios in the Phoenix area? I need to know some of the worst or cheapest apts because from what I have looked at so far any of the other ones we can't really afford. Bad areas are ok because we have guns. They would probably have of what we could afford to rent. Maybe somewhere around 16th & Broadway or Central & Van buren. Any places like that. Also is there any city in the valley w/ cheaper apts than Phoenix?

Thanks.

You are choosing some hardcore areas. 16th/Broadway you will need more then guns to live there.

How cheap do you need the apartment to be? This info would be helpful.

Yeah, I worked in this area on a Shea home project for 3 months thats what made me think of it.
Maybe in the 300-400 range and month to month leases would be cool. I am not having much luck searching online.

Good luck finding a place that will rent month to month.

There are many places in North Phoenix where you can get a 1br for under $450, not sure about studios though.

Is Central and Van Buren considered a hardcore area? Our son is going to be attending the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at ASU right at that corner more or less, and I thought the area seemed very nice. I HOPE it's safe!!!

I think that reference was more applicable to the Broadway area that was also mentioned by the OP. The area around ASU downtown is fine, and getting better, in fact, thanks to the presence of the downtown campus.

There are weekly rental places in downtown... They pay for everything and includes furnishings. I believe a studio was $350 with no kitchen,washer/dryer, parking.

The Van Buren strip is also pretty crappy hence the OP is looking for a cheap crack rental to live in cuz they have a gun.

I remember a thrift store I used to go to on about 33rd Ave. and Van Buren; a women pointed to some apartments across the street, they all had plywood for windows; the rent was $10 a month Section 8 housing.
