Not any time soon with this economy. I know there are plans but I doubt financing is available. However, there is a mega water park under construction in Mesa.

Six Flags just filed for bankruptcy )reorganization, I assume). So, don't hold your breath on that one.

There is a lot of reasons we aren't "theme park" friendly. I stopped wishing for one a long time ago. It probably won't ever happen. If you notice these parks are usually in areas that are not as hot. It's cheaper to heat than to cool a large area. "Especially if its outside". Running equipment works toward a heating bill and against an air conditioning bill. They could close it for the summer like they do other ones in the winter but the summer is when all the kids are out of school for vacation so it would be mute. We are not a traditional "season" state. I hope you can figure out what I mean. lol
Anyway, I stopped wishing after I read why most stopped dreaming about Phoenix parks.

Legend City used to be open during the days and nights when the weather was cool. In the summer, it was open during the day but most people went in the late afternoon and evening. Of course, we weren't as much of a heat island back then.

OK: I'll bite------------where exactly was Legend City located? Supposedly Priest/Washington Blvd pass right by the location where SRP is now.

The "Decades" theme park, originally planned for Eloy is now shelved, mostly due to financing, but the backers also decided Eloy was still too far out for this type of venue. I disagree, but Im not putting up the money either!

The backers still claim they are going to try and move forward, but with no money, and now the need to get ANOTHER taxing district approved somewhere else, it wont be anytime soon.
