HAY! My name is Stixx V'Dubhiro. Let me go ahead and remove some of the atypical questions, since I've been lurking for about a month:

Seen no scorpions, spiders, or snakes.

I'm aware there are no jobs. I'm not asking anyone to provide me with any sort of direction in that regard.

...

Well, what else is there?

My wife and I drove down here two and a half weeks ago from the ONLY V-Dub That Matters, Vancouver Washington... so far, so good. Once you get past the drug dealing and ****.

We rented a room from Craigslist and WHOOOO... boy has this been a metric ****ton of fun. But how were we to know? The drive here was fantastic. Especially the two day stop over in Carson City, Nevada. Unfortunately, that wasn't end-game. And now here we are. Thank God we left our daughter with her grandparents on an extended vacation... breaks our collective hearts every day when we talk to her on the phone, but the alternative of her being around the meth smoke (and us hiding in our room) is worth us trying desparately to get into somewhere, ANYWHERE else.

From what I've seen (which isn't much) this place is great. What with things and stufflers and all. Beer and smokes cost WAY too goddamn much, but other than that... and the clucks... we're digging Glendale. I personally can't wait to eat at Armando Alejandro Estrada's spot, Baby's Steak and Lemonade... I hear the cheesesteak is, como se dice? Outstanding.

In any event, hello to you all! You may end up wishing I never showed up before all is said and done... but for the time being, I greet you cordially.

Welcome to Phoenix (Feenix). There's meth-heads every where, but perhaps next time you need to rent a room you'll just stay in a motel instead of using Craigslist there are decently priced motels/hotels everywhere, and they don't include the druggies.

It can be a fantastic place out here, the weather has been most enjoyable too. Enjoy the rest of your stay!

Meth smoke pretty much smells like regular smoke... except more methy.

I doubt I'd have gotten a motel for $250 a month. Then again, caveat emptor. DOH! Ah well. They're all actually pretty cool people, it's just the whole tweakin scene... pretty meh, to say the least. And I of course know that it's FEE-NIX... it's just a Santino Marella joke from a while back. I don't expect anyone to know or care who or what that is.

DID hit up Baby's today, though. Awesome! I had the Armando Philly, and by God, I haven't had a cheesesteak that good since I lived on Maui in '04-'05 (Shaka Pizza in Kihei, if you ever get out that way!). My wife had the CM Punk and loved it. Armando was there but I overheard that he'd just got back into town, and he was doing paperwork so I didn't bother going over and acting like a mark. Plus, we didn't have a camera with us. Next time, though! Wife also had the original lemonade which was FANTASTIC. Tastiest non-alcoholic drink I've tried in years.

I was shocked to learn, around 5pm gassing up at a Chevron on 51st, that it was 109 degrees today. Yeah, it was pretty damn warm, but that surprised us. God bless the desert! 100 in the Northwest = DEATH.
