Hoping to purchase a second home in Arizona. Looking for an experienced agent that has lived in the Phoenix area and is very familiar with the surrounding areas. The agent would have a minimum of 10yrs experience. Agent would be representing the buyers. Looking for recommendations as we live out of state. Knowledge of short sales and lender owned properties a plus!

Check out Capt Bill of the Phoenix area. He's one of the more popular and knowledgeable real estate agents that post regularly on CD.

I've been very pleased working with Greg Swann of Bloodhound Realty. A no-BS guy in what is often a fertilizer pit. Now as a buyer's agent he'll say it like it is with respect to short sales and REO properties (talk about a snake pit), but he won't steer you wrong. Check out his recent articles in the Arizona Republic and see if his views on the Phoenix real estate market aren't well-reasoned.

Just FYI, just because they have 10 yrs experience doesn't make them a good agent. I would count on personal recommendations much more than experience.

I agree that 10 years experience does not make the the, but they must do something right to last that long, especially in todays market. I always refer out to experienced agents, or one that has been directly referred to use
