I love Joe!!!! He's probably the ONLY politician I know of that actually does what he says he's going to do and he makes a difference every day out there. It's simple....dead beat dads, criminals and illigals don't like him and that's AWESOME! They aren't supposed to like him. But everyone else should love him because he keeps our city safe.

I lived in Los Angeles and a few of the other surrounding communities back in the 50's and 60's. For all of Arpaio's faults, the alternative is going to be worse.

It's hard, because he's one of the few people who does something about the illegal alien crisis. A lot of people cut him slack in other areas, because of this.

Arpaio enjoys Hitler like support from certain segments of Maricopa county. Much like Hitler he is removing unwanted segments of the population (in a different manner of course) so his egregious abuse of power is often overlooked and not acknowledged by these people.

Maricopa County sheriff's deputies on Wednesday stormed into a county building, seized control of a computer system
and threatened to arrest county employees if they tried to stop them, according to county officials. ..

"The sheriff did not receive permission from - or give notice to - any other elected official or stakeholder agency before barging in with armed officers and demanding that he be given exclusive control," he said...

County Manager Smith called the action "the lowest common denominator of a thug, which is the use of force. (Sheriff Joe Arpaio) has no authority in law - or business practice - to do this. He just decided . . . to send in deputies and take over and kick the staff out. It's a misappropriation of public assets."
Nope...just attempting to restore some law and order.

Oh, sure. Joe has his showboat moments, and he loves the cameras and media attention, but he does his job. Nobody can deny he's out there to be the SHERIFF, and not a spineless, worried-about-election politician.

what election? he's not running for gov. he doesnt need to do much to remain sheriff of MCSO. we'll him for another term.

and to boot, with the Feds sending more $$, drones, and foot power to AZ southern border we will see less illegals coming up into Pima/Pinal/Maricopa, which means less issues for Joe, which means less valid arguments from the anti-Joe camp.

Default Go far fast, Joe!

Joe - please go away. Here's the main reasoning: OK, illegal immigration is a problem, needs attention, begs for positive/humane solution, drains our economy - lots of problems. OK, the feds haven't done an effective job with this problem for many years (did not begin when Obama was elected). But - MCSO should have as their priority and use the majority of their assets attacking crimes directly against people - robberies, assaults, fallout from meth use - you know, the real bad guys. Yes, his "sweeps" catch some of those people as part of the group - he touts those big-time for a reason. Of course illegals are involved in those things, just like legal citizens are in greater numbers.
However, to prioritize the illegal immigration portion, and be happy that you round up the real bad guys as well by accident rather than on purpose - it needs to be the other way around. Go big-time at those who directly hurt others, and when those who ARE illegals in there - bonus! Also, his posturing and media presence - he wants re-election and panders to those who hate hispanics (and the current president, just as a bit of icing on the cake). How many police chiefs that run effective departments are on the front pages every day criticizing anyone and everyone who doesn't think his agency is the personal immigration solution? He's the only one of which I'm aware. Please, go away, Joe - ASAP! I'm only one vote!
