I'm sure most of you remember the lights that appeared around the Estrella Mountain Range southwest of Phoenix in March of 1997. I didn't see them, but many still don't know what they were, and they're dismissing the Air Force's explanation of a military exercise.

Regardless of what you believe, there will be a real exercise conducted tonight by the Air Force at the Barry M. Goldwater Range.

I used to work at the Goldwater Range. You'd be surprised at just how bright the flares are and how strange they look as they parachute to the ground. The "Phoenix Lights" are flares.

...but before I knew what they were, I got pretty freaked out the first time I saw 'em. So I can certainly understand why people think they're UFOs.

Did anyone take pics this time? I'd like to compare them to the original "Phoenix Lights"
