[quote=thinkin about it;11691262]....of course...[/quote

o course what I agree ... they are many many places that we need people who are nice and think of others warm and fuzzy and make hot coco.
but when it comes to safety I want a type a strong personality .
We do have to make sure people are checked all the time. But if my kid is at fort hood training I never want the phone call or sorry sir he was killed by his psychologist at gunpoint because he seemed like such a nice man.

Just like in the marines and special forces and fireman ..
that should be the elite Moderator cut: hostile and discriminatory the best of the best are always a little arrogant . If they can get it done
deal with them.

See above. The Sheriff's Office, and this deputy, had their day in court in the contempt proceedings. Joe's just mad because he doesn't lke to be ORDERED to do anything, or have his minions ORDERED to do something.
this is not what i read if this is true then I am wrong . I ll get back to ya on that post a link to this for me

Try THIS:

Officer found in contempt of court in document case

Or, go to the source. Here's the court's written ruling:

http://www.courtminutes.maricopa.gov...9/m3972102.pdf

I don't know what you read, or what you are questioning about what I said, but other than the fact that he is to give both an oral AND written apology(and I fixed that), the original post was correct.

This State, as well as this entire country, would be a much better place to live if we had more Sheriff Joes!

As a simple example using recent events . . . would there have been a massacre at Fort Hood if Sheriff Joe had been in charge?
Explain how Joe would have prevented something like that. Death penalty in TX didn't scare the gunman. Tent City, pink outfits, and baloney sandwiches would have?

Because he is a necessary evil! A lot of people in Arizona know he is a wack job but they know he is probably keeping us safer too. They fear that anyone else who is voted to Sheriff will essentially be a politician and not be aggressive or do nothing. That's why I will vote for him.

Moderator cut: hostile statement

The taxpayers of Maricopa County certainly aren't safer, with the lawsuits against him and those that he starts. Now he's demanding the personnel files of seven county employees after an auditor challenged his purchase of a $400,000++ bus outside procurement rules. His self-described enemies list gets longer and longer. And "people in Arizona" don't all have him on the ballot or have to pay his bills. Just us lucky folks in Maricopa County.

Pretty ignorant comment there. Of course it would have happened; and it could have happened at Bragg, Campbell or Drum all the same. Things like this cannot be stopped. This was not a base security issue, the guy who did it is/was a soldier. He had a DOD ID card, he did not sneak on post. Also, it isn't hard to get onto post anyways. You can get on with just your drivers license, and so can everyone else on this forum.

Moderator cut: post you are referring to has been deleted With the way the violence in Mexico has escalated and with the kidnappings and other violence, the last thing I want is a passive sheriff. This is just my opinion. I understand why people are opposed to him but for me, I would rather have a non-PC sheriff who actually fights crime than a PC one who does nothing. If that means more lawsuits, fine, that the price I'm willing to pay for safety.
