Closing on a home in San Tan and would like to know how sewer/water rates work. Are there separate charges for each service? Home is in Johnson Ranch. I think base rates for water may be $25 and then $$$ for water usage with $160 security deposit. I know I will find out after we close, but want to be prepared for a big shock.

You can call both companies and ask them for estimates. Water and electric are generally separate. Water/sewage/garbage are usually combined into one bill for houses. Most usually require a deposit, depending on their regulations, but you get the deposit back after a time. If you used a Realtor, they can find out what companies you will be using for you.

Thanks llyzard for the good response. Yes, I do have a realtor who could have found those things out (and has). I wanted to do some investigating on my own and after reading a lot of comments and postings on this site decided to get some more info. Mod cut: Personal attack
