We just got an inspection done on a unit in allison, there was a few issues... can i get a reduction in price? These units are being sold by the developer does that affect me, they say there is no room to move on the price. Does anyone have any further info on this complex...it looks great we just don't want a lemon.

Thanks

I presume you've looked at the other thread you started on these places, as yours is the last post there....

did you add a contingency in the contract that the sale was subject to your approval of the results of an inspection?...how significant are the inspection issues?....just a few hundred dollars?....you can ask the seller to fix all the issues and they may or may not...if you're not happy with their response, you can probably cancel the contract (if there was an inspection clause)...you probably can't get a reduction in price based on the inspection result, but can try to ask the seller to fix them (they may do shoddy fix-up work, though)....

are you working with a buyer's agent?

these issues may be related to the place being former apartments built with a lower standard of quality....

if you really like the place, are happy with the price you are paying, can handle the fix-ups needed, maybe you should go through with it....

Here we go again. What does your contract say?

I bet that salesman was a "nice guy" when you signed. Now he doesn't remember your name.

You need to know what leverage you have and how you can use it. Believe me condos are not selling well these days. They do not want you to walk any more than you want to cancel. Time to negotiate.

You might want to check apartment ratings .com. Lots of complaints. Mostly about the management, but they seem to have a lot of problems with the plumbing. A resident said there are many leaks and mold issues. good luck.
