Hello everyone, I got a job offer in Phoenix in zip code 85027. I will be moving from Seattle. I wanted to know what place will be best to live if I have to work in 85027. I am planning to rent only. The place should be safe and preferrably daily commute should not be more than 15-20 mins. I have 3 yr old daughter, so any place with good pre-schools and fitting the above criteria are highly desired.

I would appreciate if you guys can share your expert opinion and help me out here. Thanks in advance.

I looked on a zipcode map and 85027 looks like Deer Valley area.

Where will you be working or commuting to? Please give some cross streets or freeway proximities so we can help more.

Deer Valley is a nice middle class area of Phoenix. You can find a nice house in that area for around 200K. It's pretty nice and safe but not upscale.

We have used Century 21 for a few years now and have been happy with their service so far. Joann Ayres is our agent and she has quite a few rentals in that area. joann.ayres@century21.com. Best of luck.

Nice helpful response.

BTW, for those giving purchasing advice, the OP says she wants to rent.

To the OP--- do give us cross streets for your work location... it will help give more specific help about apartments, preschools, within your commute range.

Seattle

If you plan on living and working in 85027 your commute will be like 15-20 min at the longest because the zip codes in Phoenix encompass such a small area. 85027 is not exactly the best area in Phoenix, there is crime etc... Even if you live in another zip code in Phoenix, your commute will still be 15-20 mins. Try 85308, good schools, safe area. Arrowhead Ranch have rentals for like $1100- up. Good luck in your move.

I would look up near the Norterra area off of the I-17 and Happy Valley, or even upwards toward Carefree highway. THe commute can easily be done in 20 minutes and they are safe neighborhoods.

Even living near the arrowhead area off of the L101 and avenues of 51st and west are niec areas with not too long of a commute.

The question is, how much are you wanting to spend on rent monthly?

I don't know that area too well. But from my experinces driving through, I'd look north of the Loop 101 but west 27th Ave, or south of the Loop 101 but west of 43rd Ave, or south of the Loop 101 but east of 7th St, or north of the Loop 101 but Cave Creek Rd or east. You could also look at Happy Valley Road and north along the I-17. Anthem is very nice and likely 15-20 minutes north on the I-17.
Good luck!
