I was given the names Cox and Quest as companies out there for high speed internet connections, but does anyone use OOma or MagicJack out there. Any problems with them?

What would be the least expensive--and best company--to use for high speed internet out there for the Sun City area?

We use Mediacom in the Midwest, but I guess Phoenix never heard of them.

What exactly are you looking for, internet or phone? Cox and Quest have both internet and phone, but OOma and Magic Jack are strictly phone companies that you must have high speed internet to use.

Internet as I might go totally cell if the better deal is there. This is why I am asking about companies as I have no idea what folks use out there.

You have to check on the availability of service at the home that you are planning to buy. Not all areas are served by both. You might also want to check on pricing because it varies depending on the services you purchase, IE:internet only vs. tv+phone+internet.

are there some Sun City locals you can ask?....or the chamber of commerce?.....or google "Sun City internet choices"....call Qwest and Cox (those may be your only high-speed choices)

I think Cox has the fastest internet. I have had Vonage for five or six years. It used to be great but I'm getting rid of it in the fall and using cell phones only. The drop outs make it useless and the technical support can't fix it. I was one of the early adapters with Cox in central Phoenix. I used to have a Lancity modem that was as heavy as a brick and sat on the floor. A year or two later they introduced the docsis modem.

I'm surprised an area that big has so little. I'm in a small area of 400,000 and we have a much wider choice here...go figure? Doesn't make sense does it?

My daughter uses Cox and lives in Sun City/Surprise. We are hoping Zona comes to our neighborhood soon.

I have Qwest high-speed internet and I've been very happy with it. When there have been technical issues, the customer service was excellent. Qwest was bought out very recently by CenturyTel, though, so it remains to be seen if the good service will continue when they are the nation's third-largest provider of local phone service.
