Neither.

My Toyo/Omega View 45D cost me, with lens, $125.
My Mamiya M645 with a 80/2.8 cost me $100.

Mamiya C330 go for about $300. The C220, C33, C22, C3, and C2 go for less. Yashica TLRs range from $50 to $350.
Rollei's go for $300-$3000 though.

A Nikon F4 goes anywhere from $100-$300. F5's start around $300.
EOS 1N go for about $200-300. 1V's are out of the price range.

But I think the OP is looking for more practical solutions, especially as a move from P&S to potentially a DSLR. Going to film or something along the lines is unlikely to be that.

For some reason, every one of the Mamiya's I looked at as well as the Toyos were going for $3900-$5000! My bad!
