Just wanted to inform forum members about 2 new interesting cameras that were announced recently:

Nikon D4: The future top of the line Pro Nikon. Not so many new features except enhanced video capabilities. As expected, price will be very high.

Fujifilm X-Pro-1: a new rangefinder type camera with interchangeable lenses. For photo enthusiasts. Price (body only) will be around $1700.

You missed GadgetRick's point though... if the camera is the tool used to make money, as opposed to a way to dispose of excess income, those high priced tools are more productive and literally are an economically required asset.

Depends on whether photography is the means to an end, or the end itself.
