I am taking my DSLR to St Lucia with me. However, I am not sure how I am going to charge the batteries.

The outlets at the resort I am staying at use UK standard 3 prong, 220 volt outlets. My charger, of course, is a US 110V outlet.

All of the converters for foreign travel warn not to use them with electronics or chargeable batteries.

Does Olympus sell a travel charger for the BLM-1 batteries that would be safe? (I am having trouble finding something).

Thanks!

Can't speak for Olympus charger, but I would assume that it supports dual voltage (110v-220v). That is the case with my laptop charger as well as (Sony) camera battery charger. You should confirm that first. If it supports dual voltage, then it may be just a matter of picking up adapters for those countries you're visiting. Although, in my case, I picked up a voltage converter as well since it was on sale and had those adapters included. I didn't need to use the voltage converter (not in England, Germany or India, three countries I visited last year) but the adapters came in handy.

You may occasionally find the same "prong-design" with 110-115V as here. Or you may end up using 220V outlets with the local prong-design (when you would need those adapters). But make sure your charger is indeed variable input voltage kind. What is the model number for your charger?

Charger model # is PS-BCM2

Maybe it would work with just a plug adapter? Says on the back by input: 100V-240V, 50-60hz.

Then you should be good to go! Just get the proper adapter so you can plug it in properly into the available socket.

Here is some info on the adapters and what they use in St Lucia (and other places): Electrical Plug/Outlet and Voltage Information for Saint Lucia : Adaptelec.com, International Electrical Specialists

You might search Amazon.com to get an idea what they cost, pretty inexpensive...
