I've recently started dabbling in photography and just upgraded my camera to the Canon Rebel T3i. I was blown away with how much my photos improved by just making this change! Anyhow, I've only used the very basic free photo editing software, Windows Live Photo Gallery, that came with my computer. I've also used PicMonkey online, to add watermarks. I would like to find a great photo editing software program, but I don't know anything about them. Does anyone have any recommendations for a great, budget friendly (less than $100 or so) program? I'm a little overwhelmed by all that is out there.
Adobe Photoshop Elements or Gimp are your two best choices for Windows.
Elements is $64 most places. It's very popular so you can get help on web forums because so many people use it.
Gimp is free. Probably not as user friendly as Elements, but much more powerful. It's more like the full Adobe Photoshop which is way outside your budget. Bigger learning curve than elements from what I can tell. Personally I use the full Photoshop.
It's a little more than you want to spend, but Lightroom 4 is probably the best bang for the buck. Check out some of the videos, to see what type of editing capabilities it has.
Thank you for the replies so far. I've heard some great things about Adobe Lightroom. I like the price too! I attempted Gimp a while ago and was completely overwhelmed and gave up. It was definitely not user friendly.
It's FREE and takes about 3-5 min too down load. PhotoScape... go too download cnet.com type in Photoscape..follow instructions... Great little photo editing program that you can fiddle with and learn and have fun... and it's FREE..
