Great minds think alike! I'm going to have to go with cynwilkat on this one. An old art deco period camera.

Not a radio, but it is made of bake lite plastic. It is not as old as Art Deco period. After WW1 and before WW2. Think children.

It's called a "View Finder." The exact name I'm thinking of is "View Master" A toy with slides on a round card placed into the view master, each slide could be magnified and viewed.

Zonababe is a good clue listener. It is a 1942 Sawyers Viewmaste in it's original case with over 30 disks. There are disks for Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, Yosimite, Yellow stone and others from 1942 and 1946 and some of fables and Disney stories from 1948 to 1958. There is a set of Mickey mouse disks too. I found it in a free box about 18 years ago when I lived in Oakland.

Here are pictures of the viewmaster and a close up of the lone cypress in Monterey in 1942 at what is now Pebble Beach resort and what it looked like when I was there in September of 2006 and one close up of Yosemite in 1948. There are some cracks and chips on the cover of the case and the rest is perfect.

Look at post number 969, it is a 1942 Sawyers View master.
