Not a honeycomb nor a town. Not a sponge (real sponges are living creatures BTW) but its name does sound similar to another product you may find in a bathroom.
ok, not living but grows and rhymes with bathroom item...
I was going to say "hair" and although that rhymes with chair which can be found in my bathroom, and "unfair" which sometimes can be heard there when I step on the scale, I'm going to go with "nail" as in finger or toe as that rhymes with scale, and that makes more sense....
Tufa grows when calcium rich water bubbles up from springs, in this case under Mono Lake in California, and reacts with the alkaline, carbonate rich water of the lake forming calcium carbonate spires.
Tufa sounds a lot like Luffa (or Loofah if you prefer) which is found in many bathrooms.
