I currently have a Flickr Pro account for which I'm trying to build a following and which I intend to use as my "presentation" photo sharing website. Going forward, I don't want to put anything up there for public viewing unless (a) it's a photo I have taken and (b) I'm happy enough with it aesthetically and photographic skill-wise that I want to have other people look at it.
With that in mind, where can I share photos for other purposes, for instance if I want to ask people in the Nikon forums what I did wrong or how I can make a photo better? Or if I want to ask on a general message board, like this one, about some weird thing Facebook is doing, and I want to link to a screenshot? I find that if I use Flickr for that purpose, some people will fave the images anyway, which is rather--discouraging. I appreciate that they want to give me props, but if I post a photo of a power strip to ask why an AC adapter covers two extra receptacles on it, I'm not asking people to fave it like it's supposed to be a beautiful photograph. I really want to keep material like this out of my Flickr roll. I'd go so far as to delete such images now, except that this would break the online posts I have made about them in order to ask about whatever it was that was illustrated in the photos.
Did photo net change their policy? A few years ago they locked all our content that we had in the free acct. You had to subscribe to download or add photos. I quit using them at that time but would love to get my stuff downloaded if I can.
Can't remeber how much storage you get, but deviantart.com used to be good for photo sharing, and it's free. Easy to comment on other profiles and get advice.

Reason: wrong link
Welp, I feel stupid and justifiably so. There's nothing to stop me from starting a second free Flickr account under a different email. They've cut down tremendously on capacity for free accounts, but they still let you upload up to a thousand images. That should be more than sufficient for the kind of situations that I mentioned.
In fact, I already HAVE a second Flickr account, which I obviously forgot about because I never use it.
