Any Pentax owners here? I used to have the Pentax, loved it so much that I bought an old one from E-bay for my nephew to learn photography. Wrapped it up, surprised him and the darn thing was broken! It cost way too much to repair by Pentax company the E-bay seller denies it broken - long story.

Do you like the older camera's better than digital?

My digital, I gave it to my son to take it to Hawaii on vacation and before he even had a chance to use it, it died. Something inside is non-functioning.
It's a Kodak Easy Share - one year old. The cost to ship off and repair -
too much! Easier to get a new one.

Yes I love my Canon DSLR, however I also love my 4x5 for shooting landscapes. There is an old saying, "The right tool for the right job". I would never even consider using the 4x5 for action type photography and never consider the Canon digital for capturing a sunset landscape with intentions of printing a 24x60 panaroma.

I here good things about some of the Fuji point and shoot cameras also. A trip to a local full line camera store may help you decide what will best suit your needs. I switched from 35mm film in '03 and haven't looked back.

I'm currently looking to get my wife a small pocket camera for documenting medical type things. It should take nice candids also. Still undecided as to brand or type. HTH. If I can answer any specifics please DM me. Happy shooting.

Reckon the OP's replaced their camera by now. That post was made a year ago!

I noticed but thought it was a shame that no one took time to answer. Thought it might still be a long shot. I waited longer before buying a pro digital. Hope all is well with the OP.
