On the contrary, I've taken more bad than good. I try to post only the good ones. It's like fishing, all aren't keepers. I've had to shoot a lot in very adverse lighting conditions and that accounts for a lot that just don't make the grade. Controlled light in a studio with backdrops are great, but outdoor action is taken when the action occurs not when I would like to do it. It just comes with the territory so to speak. Learning to make the most out of a bad situation comes with experience. It's a never ending job of learning from what you seen and done. Don't let anyone ever convince you that just take it and Photoshop will make it perfect. That's one of the biggest farces going in the digital photo world. I really appreciate your complements but feel for your and everyone's best interest it is far better to be honest about the really bad shots that find their way onto a chip from time to time.

That's a great response to Calvitts' praise, Nomadicus, and I'm sure it's true, but I think you're a bit too modest.

How about this compliment, then? You have a great eye for discerning which of your many photos to share with us.

An example of a seeing red photo that was a bear to salvage. There is a lot of red here but that's not the only reason for the post. This is shot in a dark arena to the camera. It was shot in RAW and the exposure was 2 or more stops under ideal. ISO at 3200 and a shutter of 250 with a f2.8 lens. That created a lot of noise. Really ugly noise. In these circumstances it's tough and editing can help a lot but still not deliver anywhere close to studio or prime outside daylight images. The thing to remember is that the 15 year old kid on this bull has a memento that he will remember for ever. I'm not sure what colors are going through his head at a moment like this but even that may have been red as in blood red???
